The 12 districts are the backbone of Panem, providing resources to the Capitol. Each district has its own unique industry and is controlled by the oppressive regime of the Capitol. District 12, for example, is a mining district where the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, comes from. The districts live under harsh conditions, and over time, this leads to the rise of a rebellion against the Capitol. This rebellion, fueled by the growing unrest in the districts and inspired by Katniss’s defiance in the arena, eventually leads to a full-scale revolution against the Capitol’s rule.
